a bit about me

Hey there, I'm phthallo! I'm 18, born and raised in Adelaide, Australia. After graduating high school in November 2024, I took a gap year to run technical programs at Hack Club as part of their volunteer gap year fellowship.

I'm a tinkerer at heart and have been messing around on the web for as long as I can remember. I grew up online and have made my home here - welcome to my corner of the internet.

Outside of programming, some of the things I like are:

Playing indie video games.

Recently, I've been enjoying Silksong, Balatro, Nine Sols and Celeste.
I used to (extremely casually) speedrun Celeste and my Any% PB is 57:02 :D. I also really like playing modded Celeste maps and campaigns.

Fantasy fiction & sci-fi, plus other transformative works!

Winds of Winter 😭🙏 One of my favourite books of all time is To Be Taught, If Fortunate.

My guilty pleasure: comedy and panel shows like Taskmaster and QI

They're really fun! Also of note are 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Would I Lie to You, Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont-Spelling Bee and occasionally Only Connect.

Despite being born without an ounce of musical talent, I really like music. I think it's one of the greatest things about being alive, because a good song never dies. You can check out my listening stats on last.fm.

I like travelling without a plan, self-hosting stuff, roadtrips, good music, FOSS, and thoughtful conversations with interesting people.
